Since our inception in 2002, the Light Foundation has been committed to strengthening young people through immersive leadership programming. From our signature program Camp Vohokase, to the L.I.G.H.T. Project, to Timberframe Camp, to our high school leadership conferences, and more – we have seen firsthand what happens when young people are given the tools, mentorship, and encouragement to “own their power.” They grow. They lead. They inspire others.

Program Expansion
One of our most exciting priorities is geographic expansion. With plans to bring the L.I.G.H.T. Project into Rhode Island and establish a formal presence in New Hampshire, we are taking intentional steps to reach more students across New England. These expansions are not just about growth but also access. We are committed to ensuring that more young people, regardless of background, have the opportunity to experience transformational leadership development.
Program Alignment
Growth is not only measured in numbers; it is measured in depth. As we expand, we are equally focused on enhancing the quality and impact of our programming. This includes investing in curriculum development, strengthening mentorship opportunities, and creating more pathways for alumni to stay engaged and continue their leadership journeys. We want every young person to leave our programs not only inspired, but equipped with practical skills, a strong sense of identity, and the confidence to lead in their schools, communities, and beyond.

Our strategic plan places a strong emphasis on building and nurturing relationships with donors, corporate partners, educators, and community leaders. These partnerships are critical to sustaining and scaling our mission.

Transforming our yurts into a full-service lodge makes Chenowith Trails more than a facility; it now becomes a central hub where our culture, curriculum, and leadership experiences come to life consistently and at scale. In addition, exploring programming space in New England means building a second hub allowing us to deliver the same high-quality experiences without geographic barriers.
