Reconnecting in Dayton: A Hometown Visit for Our New Senior Class
October 20, 2025

The Camp Vohokase Fall Visit with the Dayton, Ohio class was an unforgettable weekend filled with laughter, teamwork, and reflection. Each visit is a reminder of the deep bonds formed through the Camp Vohokase brotherhood, and this fall trip captured that spirit perfectly.

We started the day early with a warm and filling breakfast, where everyone gathered around the table to reconnect and share updates on school, sports, and life. These moments of conversation are at the heart of what makes Camp Vohokase special seeing how far each young man has come, while offering encouragement for the journey ahead.

After breakfast, we headed over to Scene 75, one of Dayton’s most popular attractions. The energy was high from the start as the group jumped into a variety of games, rides, and activities. Whether it was laser tag, go-karts, or arcade challenges, the guys competed with enthusiasm and plenty of good-natured jokes. It was a chance to let loose, bond, and simply enjoy each other’s company outside the classroom or camp setting.

Next up was a test of teamwork and strategy: the “Prison Break” escape room. The group quickly divided tasks, shared ideas, and put their problem-solving skills to the test. With clues scattered throughout the room and the clock ticking, everyone worked together to piece together the puzzle. We came incredibly close to escaping but did get caught! Even though we didn’t quite make it out, the experience was a great reminder of how communication, patience, and collaboration make all the difference.

After working up an appetite, we gathered for dinner, where stories and laughter filled the table. From reflecting on the day’s adventures to sharing future goals, the meal served as another opportunity to strengthen the relationships that make Camp Vohokase such a supportive community.

The evening wrapped up with some bowling, and the friendly competition came back in full force. Strikes and spares were celebrated with cheers, while the occasional gutter ball brought plenty of laughs. The lighthearted rivalry kept everyone engaged, and the energy in the bowling alley reflected the brotherhood that Camp Vohokase continues to foster year after year.

By the end of the night, it was clear that the Fall Visit wasn’t just about the games or the food—it was about connection. It was about seeing growth, building trust, and celebrating the shared experiences that brought the Dayton class together. As everyone said their goodbyes, the takeaway was simple: Camp Vohokase isn’t just a program—it’s a family, and this visit was another meaningful chapter in that story.
