The 7th Annual Fools’ Night Out Showcased Matt Light’s Best Pranks!
April 13, 2021

Well, what can we say…in typical Light Foundation fashion we went “ALL IN” for April Fools’ Day this year and man, was it worth it! Our 7th Annual Fools’ Night Out on Thursday, April 1, 2021, was a huge success in more ways than one.  We had a capacity crowd at the Mendon Twin Drive-In, and we are so grateful to everyone who came out to share a laugh with us safely — from the comfort of their cars. It felt so good to be together…despite mother nature’s best efforts to interfere!

For our 400 cooped-up guests, the nostalgic atmosphere of the New England’s most beloved drive-in was just what the doctor ordered! Before the show, guests enjoyed complimentary cocktails in the beer garden – courtesy of our friends at Harpoon – and everyone’s favorite premium, low-calorie spirit, Keel Vodka. They stopped by one of the awesome food trucks: Sal’s Pizza, Baby’s Bonetown Barbeque, and Dave the Sausage Guy. And, they enjoyed the musical entertainment of DJ Brian “Skippy” Gravel who took it old school with his tunes.  Guests also had the chance to purchase raffle tickets for two VIP tickets to a Patriot’s game courtesy of eMaxx and bid in our silent auction. We had lots of great items, including some fun summertime packages that include impossible-to-get Yeti luggage, a grill from Koopman Lumber, a private tour from Southwick’s Zoo, and exclusive sports memorabilia.

Once the sun set, Matt kicked off the show by picking the two winners of our door prize – a $500 Cardis Furniture Gift Card! After that, his longtime pals Tony V and Lenny Clarke, made their way to the stage to set a hysterical tone for the night and to introduce the comedy line-up which featured Graig Murphy, Jody Sloane, Brad Mastrangelo, Corey Rodrigues, Christine Hurley, and Orlando Baxter. The laughs – and horns – could be heard all night! A huge thank you to Mike Clarke for providing an awesome roster of comics who donated their time once again for this event. If you missed the show or want more laughs you can always go to the Giggles Comedy Club in Saugus, MA. Visit www.princepizzeria.com for a full schedule!

The highlight of this annual event is always when Matt – a notorious prankster – shares video clips from his most recent pranks, and this year no one was off limits…. including his own mother… watch here! Also on the receiving end was KC Chief, Anthony Sherman, who had his beloved truck raffled off without him even knowing it! It all started with Oreos and now you can watch how it all went down here. And, as a special thank you to the folks who turned this year, Matt opened up his private vault and shared a compilation video featuring his all-time favorite pranks – including ones he pulled on Tom Brady and Bill Belichick! Check it out here!

All joking aside, this event, which raised a record-breaking $159,000 for the Light Foundation and our youth programming, would not have been possible without our generous sponsors.  We extend a heartfelt thanks to all of them especially our Lead Sponsor, Rockport Mortgage Corporation, and the very generous Dan Lyons.  Dan and his crew were all there representing! Imperial Cars, headed up by the incredible Kevin Meehan, was the night’s Fun Fan Sponsor and came out with a five-car display and prize wheel. Longtime supporter David Howe’s J. Derenzo Charitable Foundation was our Tomfoolery sponsor and Twelve Points Wealth, the Haynes Group, and Gemini Industries made up our Prankster Sponsors. And, our Mischief-Makers sponsors, Subaru of New England, Boston Private Bank, and Justin & Christine Cecil, also came out in force to enjoy the show.

Lastly, thank you to Tina Schindler and the team from the Mendon Twin Drive-In; our Volunteer Manager, Jenna Strickland; our auction guru, Liz Hall; our photographer extraordinaire, Liz Oberacker of Pure Style Photography; and all of our Light Foundation Volunteers who helped us out.
