Ralph & Phyllis Brumbaugh Expand Support as Naming Rights Sponsor of the Buckeye Blast
May 20, 2026

Greenville, Ohio — The Light Foundation, co-founded by former NFL player Matt Light and his wife Susie, is proud to announce Ralph and Phyllis Brumbaugh as the Naming Rights Sponsors of the 2nd Annual Buckeye Blast, taking place May 12, 2026, at Black Wing Shooting Center in Delaware, Ohio.

The Brumbaugh’s $72,000 commitment represents the highest level of partnership for the event and a significant expansion of their support. Ralph and Phyllis have been dedicated supporters of the Light Foundation since 2024 and Ralph currently serves on The Buckeye Blast committee, playing an active role in shaping the success and growth of the event. Their investment comes at a pivotal moment as the Light Foundation continues to expand its presence in the Midwest and advance a strategic vision focused on growing youth leadership programming.

“Ralph and Phyllis embody what it means to believe in young people and step forward when it matters most,” said Light. “This level of support doesn’t just elevate The Buckeye Blast — it strengthens our ability to reach more kids, create more opportunities, and deliver experiences that truly change lives.”

The naming rights sponsorship reflects the Brumbaugh’s deepening partnership with the Light Foundation and their shared commitment to helping young people develop character, confidence, and leadership skills through immersive, hands-on outdoor experiences. The $72,000 level holds special significance, aligning with Light’s jersey number during his NFL career and symbolizing the values of teamwork, dedication, and leadership that define the Foundation’s mission.

Ralph’s commitment to building opportunity extends beyond philanthropy. Starting Brumbaugh Construction at a young age, he grew the company into a $65 million business over the course of his career — a testament to the same work ethic, vision, and leadership that now fuels his support of the Foundation’s mission.

“As supporters of the Light Foundation, we believe strongly in the impact these programs have on young people,” said Ralph Brumbaugh. “The Buckeye Blast is a powerful way to support that mission while bringing the community together, and we’re proud to play a role in helping it grow.”

Now in its second year, The Buckeye Blast continues to build momentum as one of the Midwest’s premier clay shooting fundraisers. The event brings together teams of four for a full day of competition, hospitality, and entertainment at Black Wing Shooting Center, along with raffles, live and silent auctions, and opportunities for guests to engage with sponsors and special guests throughout the day.

Proceeds from The Buckeye Blast directly support the Light Foundation’s youth initiatives, which serve nearly 8,000 participants annually. With partners like the Brumbaughs, the Foundation is positioned to expand its facilities, deepen programming, and reach even more young people during this critical phase of growth.
