Heavy Doses of Laughter at the 9th Annual Fools’ Night Out!
April 12, 2022

If laughter is the best medicine, guests got a heavy dose of it at the Light Foundation’s recent 9th annual Fools’ Night Out comedy fundraiser! We welcomed a fully sold-out crowd to Six String Grill & Stage at Patriot Place in Foxboro, Massachusetts, just steps away from Gillette Stadium. It was, by far, our most successful Fools’ Night Out since its inception nearly a decade ago. The money raised will make a great impact, and further our mission of helping young people develop the skills, values, and mindset they need to create a meaningful and productive future.

Many of Matt Light’s former New England Patriots teammates attended the show, including Tedy Bruschi, Lonie Paxton, Patrick Pass, Dan Koppen and Logan Mankins — joined by other well-known guests like celebrity artist Brian Fox, former Boston Bruin Tommy Songin and more. Attendees were in stitches, thanks to a talented line-up of comics provided by Mike Clarke of Giggles Comedy Club. Lenny Clarke kicked off the show, and was joined by Kenny Rogerson, Juston McKinney, Jimmy Cash, Carolyn Plummer, Artie Januario, Paul D’Angelo, Corey Rodrigues, and Tony V, who hosted the second half of the evening.

Matt garnered extra laughs with a number of funny videos of some of his practical jokes, including a gag featuring Coach Bill Belichick, and another with NHL Hall-of-Famer and former Boston Bruin Ray Bourque.

The event could not have been possible without the help of many generous sponsors who supported our efforts  A big round of applause for our Lead Sponsor, Rockport Mortgage Corporation, led by owner Dan Lyons, Tom Foolery sponsors the J. Derenzo Charitable Foundation and David Howe, Taco Comfort Solutions and John Hazen White, Jr., and Prankster Sponsors Encore Boston, Koopman Lumber and Southwick’s ZooGillis Holdings also stepped up as a Mischief-Maker Sponsor.  Subaru of New England, Tom Mrva and the Stephen Prone Family Foundation also championed our cause by bringing a great number of guests to the show.

We are also grateful to the night’s in-kind donors: KEEL Vodka, who sponsored our signature drink, Harpoon Brewery for its beer donation, Liz Oberacker and Pure Style Photography, Adam Fisher and Bryan Molk at Outfront Media for the digital billboards, and Chuck Coughlin and Back Stage Photo Booth. Big props to the crew at Six String Grill and Stage, as well, for all of their help executing the event.

Plans are already underway for the 10th annual Fools’ Night Out in 2023, which will be a special celebration to mark the anniversary of what’s become one of the Light Foundation’s most popular signature events!
