Just a few days shy of St. Patrick's Day, Former New England Patriot Matt Light is looking to bring out the green in South Boston. For the 3rd consecutive year, his nonprofit organization, The Light Foundation, has a Boston Marathon team of 7 dedicated runners known as Team Speed of Light. Get excited to celebrate our runners and support a great cause at our marathon party on Wednesday, March 14th at Capo Restaurant! They've been braving some grueling weather and long training sessions to help support the foundation's mission and we can't wait to honor them.
Come enjoy live entertainment, a photo booth, great food and drinks and meet Matt and the team! Get your tickets now - it's going be a blast!

My name is Megan McCarthy, I’m from Beverly, MA, and this is my fourth Boston Marathon! My sister ran with Team Speed of Light in 2015 and I ran with the team in 2016, so I’m excited to be back on Matts team this year. Over the years I’ve been able to work closely with the Light Foundation and truly believe in the work they do to help at-risk children in the communities throughout the country. What Matt & Susie Light, along with their family, do for others in following out the mission of the foundation is truly inspirational.
My name is Caitlin Dell'Orfano. I am currently a senior at the University of Southern California studying Business Administration. I am from Boston, MA and looking forward to moving back once I finish school. I enjoy taking spin classes at SoulCycle, going on long runs in Santa Monica, and playing with my 11-month-old puppy, Bear. I am so excited to run the marathon while supporting such an amazing cause! April cannot come soon enough!
My name is Max Martins; was born in Ann Arbor, MI and raised in Newton, MA. I am a die-hard Michigan Wolverines and Boston Sports fan with a deep love for all things health and fitness related. I spent my college years pitching for the Skidmore College baseball team, and since the MLB hasn't called (yet) I currently work for a Healthcare company here in Newton. I love to explore, travel, and seek out new experiences, and through this running has become my escape. I am excited to bounce back and tackle the 2018 Boston Marathon after a back injury derailed my ability to participate on race day last year. Couldn't be happier to be running for the Light Foundation and raising awareness for this cause!
My name is Samantha McArdle and I am so excited to be running for the Speed of Light team for the 122nd Boston Marathon in 2018. I grew up in Quincy, MA where I was played basketball and lacrosse, and went on from Quincy High to join the United States Navy. While in the Navy I was fortunate enough to travel to a few places, my favorite duty station being Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. While stationed there, I ran my first marathon, the Honolulu Marathon. Last year, 2017, I ran the Boston Marathon for Zoo New England, and raised money for Franklin Park and Stone Zoo to benefit park restoration. My goal is to run the marathon as many times as I can, raising money for as many foundations and organizations as possible. Thank you for your support, and go team Speed of Light!
My name is Mark Rosenthal; I’m a resident of Foxboro, MA and one of 12 children. As a former football player, I played during High School and continued on playing at Williams College; today I work in sales at Optiv Security. This is my first marathon and I’m thankful to be running for the Light Foundation, hoping to honor my mother & father, as well as my cousin Michael. The mission of the Light Foundation is near and dear to my heart; giving kids opportunities to get outside and take on a challenge, or to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits. Thanks for your support!
My name is Amanda Gianfelice. I am an orthopedic outpatient physical therapist from Foxboro, MA. I was a soccer player growing up who turned to running after college and fell in love! I have the privilege of helping people every day reach their goals and help guide them back to health. It is in my heart to give back and I am honored to be able to run 26.2 miles in hopes of helping the Light Foundation!
My name is Ryan Fortin. I am a Data Scientist from Cambridge, MA and this will be my first Marathon. I am excited to be running with Team Speed of Light and supporting the Light Foundation because I strongly believe in the message and goal of teaching youth proper leadership skills. Thank you for your support!
