Thank you for an EPIC Matt Light Celebrity Shoot-Out!
October 1, 2021

Friends,

It is with our most sincere appreciation that we thank you for your support of our 17th annual Matt Light Celebrity Shoot-Out presented by Rockport Mortgage Company. It was truly an epic day! When we started doing this event sixteen years ago, we couldn’t imagine it would have taken on a life of its own, that it would have grown this much and become what I truly believe is the premiere shooting event in the country.  We are humbled by the support we continue to receive from people like you who believe in our cause and make this, year after year, one of the most successful fundraisers around.

Once again, we had a capacity crowd in attendance, a slew of new and returning sponsors, and an army of supporters who routinely assist in big and small ways to make the Shoot-Out possible.  We want to extend a big, big thank you to our key benefactors this year: Title Sponsor Rockport Mortgage; Platinum Sponsor J. Derenzo Charitable Foundation; Target Sponsor Smith & Wesson; Fireworks Sponsor DraftKings, Inc; Hot Shot Sponsors Santoro Oil and Putnam Investments; Silver Sponsors Ruger, Eastern Propane, Doug King Builders and Tom Niedermeyer; Bronze Sponsor Skyworks Solutions, Inc.;  Signage Sponsors Sig Sauer, FitVine, Hasbro, Forloh and Boston Private; Eastern Propane and Douglas A. King Builders; Charging Station Sponsor Talking Rain/Sparkling Ice; Shooting Station Sponsor Zudy; and Ammo Sponsors Vista Outdoors, Federal and Remington.

Big kudos also go out to our 2021 Shoot-Out partners, as well. Those include the team at Addieville East Farm, the folks from Verizon Wireless, Thistle Communications, GraVoc, Paul Molloy and Feeney Brothers Utility Services, Cardi’s Furniture, Mike and Lenny Clarke, Joe Baginski and Professional Ambulance, Jim Figara, Peak Event Rentals, Pranzi Catering & Events, and Reinhart Food Services.

Our food and drink vendors, including Chris Scott and Chef Dave from Capital Grille; Chef Anthony Caturano of Prezza; Chef Evan Deluty, formerly of Stella; Adam LaRoche and the folks at E3 Meat Company; The Sausage Guy, Bonetown BBQ, Nantucket Raw Bar, Neal Faulkner and Dunkin’ Donuts. Harpoon, the teams from Proximo Spirits, Three Olives, KEEL Vodka, FitVine, Hint Water, Coke, Pepsi, and Sparkling Ice also deserve a debt of gratitude.

To our exhibitors — Kawasaki, Rolling Stogies, Archery by Pettengill Archery, fly fishing courtesy of Fin & Feather, Brian Fox Studios, Gooseman Game Calls, Benrus, Flint and Flame, DraftKings, PM36 Media, Artist Tom Triplett, and all of the participating gun companies — thank you for being a part of our big day. Special thanks to the folks at the Collings Foundation and American Heritage Museum for providing tank rides for our guests; and to Justin Gabriel and Gun Parlor for providing its mobile shooting simulator. Our entertainment, provided by The Sultans was stellar, too!

We also tip our hats to corporate partners Gemini Industries, the Haynes Group, the Lykins Family Foundation, Twelve Points Wealth, and Lowe’s Home Improvement, along with our Board of Directors, our Shoot-Out Advisory Board, Light Foundation staff, and all of the veterans, active-duty military, and members of law enforcement who made our event possible, and meaningful.

Finally, we have to thank our volunteers. You are the glue that held our entire event together. You continue to give your time, your energy, and yourselves — and we are eternally grateful. Props to Volunteer Director Jenna Strickland and her husband Stephen, and our Auction Director, Liz Hall.

As we celebrate 20 years as a nonprofit in 2021, we are as committed as ever to being responsible stewards of the funds raised at this event and throughout the years. On average, nearly 75% of our annual revenues go right back into furthering our cause: underwriting scholarships, improving the infrastructure of our outdoor leadership facility, executing programming for kids of all ages, running our New England-based Leadership Conference and Workshop, launching our comprehensive Leadership Academy, and building up our endowment fund, which will ensure we can finance future programming.

We thank you again for the best Shoot-Out yet — and look forward to showing just how big of an impact you have made on so many lives in the days and months ahead. Please continue to stay connected through our website and social media platforms (follow us!) and we encourage you to send any feedback to admin@mattlight72.com

Until next year…

Matt & Susie Light
